Afriqiyah Woods PT, dpt - Co-Owner

With over 20 years of experience practicing Physical Therapy in New York City, Dr. Afriqiyah Woods, PT, DPT has an expertise in treating orthopedic injuries. Afriqiyah completed a prestigious Sports Medicine fellowship at The American Sports Medicine Institute under renowned orthopedic surgeon; James Andrews M.D. Afriqiyah has extensive experience in treating both professional and amateur athletes. In addition to being a physical therapy clinician, Afriqiyah is an APTA certified clinical instructor for physical therapy students and an orthopedic clinical instructor for family medicine residents at Mount Sinai Hospital. She is an APTA Orthopedic and Sports Medicine section member. Afriqiyah is a practitioner of the Graston Technique. Her expertise in Sports and Orthopedics provides emphasis on manual techniques and functional integration with every one-on-one treatment session. Afriqiyah has a passion for using her skills domestically and internationally to serve underserved communities. In particular, Afriqiyah has served as a healthcare ambassador in East Africa offering physical therapy services and education to hundreds of rural patients. Afriqiyah received her bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from Howard University, her Master’s Degree in Sports Science and Athletic Training from Long Island University, and her doctoral degree in physical therapy from Rosalind Franklin University. Her hobbies include basketball, running, spinning, and tennis.  


 

Loraine Antoine PT, DPT - Co-Owner

Loraine Antoine graduated from SUNY Downstate Medical Center with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 2006.  While working full-time she earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2009 from Temple University.  Loraine has worked as a physical therapist for many of the major health companies in New York, including NYU Langone Health (Tisch Hospital, Rusk Rehabilitation, Orthopedic Hospital), Visiting Nurse Services of NY (Brooklyn and Manhattan), and Sports PT of New York (senior facility manager).  She’s also an Assistant Professor and the Director of Clinical Education for the Physical Therapy Program at SUNY Downstate Medical Center since 2016.  Loraine has worked as an orthopedic/sports physical therapist in the outpatient setting since 2007 and frequently participates in continuing education courses to further enhance her manual skills. Her favorite part of being a physical therapist is being able to meet new people and the instant reward of knowing that she aides in improving their quality of life. In her spare time Loraine enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, sports, and dance (modern, jazz, ballet, tap, and African).
